It wasn’t until I was looking at some pictures of myself on holiday in India that I realized how big I’d got. By that stage I weighed 15st 7lbs and was wearing a size 18/20. I was horrified by the photos and knew I had to do something fast. I wanted a tough regime and fast results and I’d read about New You Boot Camp, so I booked myself in straightaway.
I was always fit when I was younger but I had a shock in store. I had no idea how unfit I was and struggled to run more that a couple of hundred yards. But by the end of the week I’d lost half a stone and a whole dress size! I was determined to carry on the good work at home. The New You Boot Camp fitness instructors gave me a programme to take home of running and strength exercises that I could fit easily into my life and I’d learned loads at camp about how to eat to keep my energy levels const ant and avoid energy slumps that got me reaching for the wrong sort of snacks. More importantly they’d given me the drive and determination to carry on.
A year and a half later I now weigh 10st and wear a size 10, and it’s all down to what I learned from Sunny, Jacqui and New You Boot Camp! I run six miles every day now without even thinking about it and eat much more healthily. But what I love most about the new me is being able to shop for norm al clothes again, knowing I’ll look great. I’m aiming to enter a triathlon soon, but not before I’ve been back to New You Boot Camp for the fifth time: not to lose weight this time but to help me reach my fitness goals.
