Date of New You Boot Camp Attended: August 2008 – Brecon Beacons, Wales
Occupation:Â Dance/drama/singing teacher – run my own performing arts school
Martial Status: Single
Age: 28
Where you live:Â Gloucester
Your Story:Â
The main reason I booked on: I have been stuck in a gym rut and needed a boost, I also needed a confidence boost. I have never been away or done anything by myself and I wanted to challenge myself and do something different.
Your Experience at New You Boot Camp:
IT WAS THE HARDEST THING EVER! I definitely would have walked away the second I could if it were not for the support of the Staff, the ladies I was with and the manager Kirstie. I really felt like part of the team and even when I was struggling and on the verge of quitting they kept me going and it ended up being the best thing I have ever done! I am so grateful for everyone from our camp!
How has New You Boot Camp changed your life?:
It made me far more confident and I enjoyed proving all my family wrong who all took bets that I would not last a few days – yet I did and I felt so so proud of myself. If I can last a week of New You Boot Camp, I can do anything. The Staff set me some personal goals and challenges and I have been attempting them this year. Everyone noticed how different I was when I returned and said how confident and motivated I have been. It has made me stick to my target weight loss. I hired a personal trainer and can’t wait to go Christmas Dress shopping as me and the bootcamp ladies from my week are having another (yes, there have been quite a few) reunion on December 12th. I can’t wait to see how we are all doing!
What would you say to anyone thinking of booking on?:Â Â
It will be THE HARDEST thing you will probably ever do – but stick with it as you will feel on top of the world at the end of week. Listen to the staff as they have so much knowledge and experience, it’s an asset and I was lucky enough to have two staff members who liked us asking lots of questions. Go ahead – be brave and go alone as you will meet some great people, you are all there for the same reason. Enjoy it and have fun!
How much weight and inches did you lose at boot camp?
I lost 10 lbs – I can’t remember the inches but it was very impressive! I was very impressed with my thighs as I had struggled for years to loose any weight in that area and I think I lost over one inch on each thigh after one week! I lost around my arms, thighs and waist – I enjoyed the shopping the week after camp as I had no clothes that fitted!
Have you gone on to lose any further weight or set any goals for your fitness: e.g. 10k, Marathons etc.
I haven’t seemed to have lost much more, but my body shape has totally changed and I look more toned. I have completed a few race for life events and am planning a half marathon in the new year! My biggest challenge yet.*
