I went on one of the Back to Basics Boot Camps in April and lost 15 lbs, so much weight I cried. When I arrived at Boot Camp I weighted 14 stone 3 Lbs, my diet wasnâ€™t great it was carbohydrate heavy and I didn’t do any regular exercise. I enrolled because I wanted to lose weight, it was a last ditch attempt for me having tried lots of diets. I never managed to make true lifestyle changes on other diets and change to my attitude to food. I had a BMI of around 35, which I know is a risk to my health, I also have hypertension, PCOS and chronic episodes of back pain.
I kicked and screamed my way through New You Boot Camp, I had highs and lows (getting stuck in the bog and falling into a stream!). New You Boot Camp is the most physically and mentally demanding thing I have ever done. I was one of the biggest if not the biggest girl on my boot camp and also the most unfit.
The next day we did a full day of activities, the staff worked hard at making us work as a team and support each other. I fell asleep in my tea and snored through one of the staff’s talks. I was close to leaving on this evening but the staff at New You Boot Camp were great they talked to me, reminded me of the results and encouraged me to carry on.
I met a great group of girls on boot camp, we bonded quickly through the experience and they put up with my kicking and screaming! The girls were great they really encouraged me, made me work harder and encouraged me generally. It was strange going home after living with 14 other girls.
New You Boot Camp has changed my lifestyle I feel healthier, my attitude to food and my tastes have totally changed. Before New You Boot Camp I didn’t like celery, houmous, rice cakes or dark chocolate but I like them now. I am also exercising at least three or four times a week, plus being more active generally. When I started boot camp I couldn’t run, it took me 14 minutes to walk the fit test at the start of boot camp, on the last day my time had improved to an amazing 11 minutes and I ran most of it!
Since leaving boot camp I have been continuing the wheat free, dairy free diet. It’s now 10 weeks since I completed New You Boot Camp and I now weight 12 stone, a total weight loss of 31 pounds and my lowest weight in nearly ten years. I have more confidence, am a happier person, my posture is better and I have had no episodes of back pain since New You Boot Camp. It was the most challenging experience I have every experienced but thank you New You Boot Camp, it was definitely worth it, you have made me a new me.*
