A typical day: Each day starts with exercise at 7am. This can be anything from circuit training to running in the fields. After an hour’s workout, breakfast is served. Typically, the day finishes around 8pm and after that you’re free to catch up with members of the group in the lounge or head for an early night. The day consists of approximately eight hours of exercises (don’t worry, it’s split up throughout the day as you’re given an hour for lunch, dinner and two lots of snacks) and mixes cardio with Boxercise, shuttle runs and walks around the surrounding area. By day four, I could see muscle definition in my arms (a first)! As a self-confessed fitness-phobe, I found the shuttle runs and cardio exercises the hardest. The food: You’re given 1,200 to 1,500 calories a day and encouraged to eat everything you’re handed, as you need it for energy. The meals are sugar, diary and wheat-free but are delicious. Coffee and tea are also delicious. Coffee and tea are also strictly off-limits.
Accommodation: The luxurious country house in Somerset is surrounded by fields, which you’ll soon become very familiar with.
I was lucky enough to have my own room – most rooms and bathrooms are communal, so if you’d rather have an en suite on your own room, tell them when booking.
The results: I lost 3lbs over five days and then another 1lb after I left – and they’ve stayed off. I also list 4.2 in overall and my cellulite was reduced, which was the most pleasing result for me.*
