Our New You Boot Camp nutrition squad teach you how to live a healthy lifestyle whilst you are with us. For all of you that have visited, you would have tasted our delicious food whilst on camp, and you would also know that we cannot rave enough about a wheat and dairy free diet! We appreciate that it may sound extreme, but the positive impacts of clean eating on your mind and body are just incredible.
Between us we have come up with our top five cookery books, and we think you’ll love them too! They are fantastic inspiration for new recipes and meals at home, for both you and your family.
Ready Steady Glow – Madeleine Shaw
Madeleine Shaw is a nutritional health coach and this is her second book. Her recipes are all free of gluten and refined sugar, and most are dairy free. There is a beautiful selection of both meat and vegetarian dishes that would be great for dinner parties, family meals or just general day-to-day dinners. We have tried a lot of the recipes and we can attest that they are delicious!
Some of our favourite recipes include Chinese duck bowl, lamb cutlets with salsa verde, black bean shepherd’s pie and a beautiful quinoa and orange stew. We appreciate the last one sounds a bit “out there”, but try it – it’s delicious!
Livia’s Kitchen – Olivia Wollenberg
All recipes in this cook book are gluten free, dairy free, egg free, refined sugar free and many recipes are nut free (not that we advocate nut free or egg free!). These might sound boring on paper, but just wait until you try them! Some of the recipes blew our socks off because they are truly delicious.
The reason that we loved this cook book is that Livia hasn’t asked us to go out and buy a huge range of expensive or hard to find products, such as Maca powder and the likes. In essence, you don’t have to spend a bomb on health foods to cook from this cook book. You will see delights such as rice pudding with coconut milk, and our favourite was the peach crumble made with oats and maple syrup – delicious!
Against All Grain: Meals Made Simple – Danielle Walker
We love, love, love this book! It’s simple, full of quick 30 minute dishes, and has lots of recipes for leftover ideas!
One of the biggest questions we have from New You Boot Camp clients is, “How do you have the time to always cook like this?” Well, this books makes it easy, and we simply love it. There is even an 8 week plan included in the book.
Additionally, if you don’t want the book, Danielle has the most amazing food blog too, which is full of info and recipes.
Nourish: The Paleo Healing Cookbook – Rachael Bryant
One of the leading ways of dealing with auto-immune issues such as fatigue, itchy skin, lack of motivation and the like, is to adapt your diet. We probably talk about this every second of every day on camp!
Rachael has included 100 recipes that are nutrient dense, delicious and simple. Dishes such as glazed and baked chicken wings and calamari ceviche salad  are just some of our favourites, and we cannot stress enough how much we love them. Our favourite part of this book is that batch cooking guides are included. We just love anything that makes life more simple!
The Big Book Of Paleo Slow Cooking – Natalie Perry
As it’s winter, slow cooking is the best way for a beautiful, warm meal to be ready when you get home. Many of you maybe working full time, or have families to look after, so you don’t have the time to cook for hours. The slow cooker is always the solution, and we just love it!
This book is a dream with over 200 slow cooker recipes that are both simple to make and delicious. Natalie not only wrote this book, but she has a fabulous blog called Perry’s Plate . Take a look – it covers some amazing recipes and tips.
